NEWS NEPEAN -The release of the 2010 Sunshine list revealed that at the same time that Dalton McGuinty doubled the debt and tripled the Sunshine list, his eHealth style waste continues at the Ministry of Health and his 14 unelected, unaccountable Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs). Buried deep in the 2010 Sunshine list of government employees earning over $100,000 annually, Ontario families learned that Dalton McGuinty paid the former Deputy Minister of Health, Ron Sapsford, over three-quarters of a million dollars in 2010 despite the fact that Sapsford quit his job in 2009. Every day since the release of the Sunshine list, the Ontario PCs have asked Dalton McGuinty to come clean and explain why someone can get paid over three-quarters of a million dollars a year after they quit their job. Dalton McGuinty still refuses to come clean. The 2010 Sunshine list also revealed that all of Dalton McGuinty's LHINs have become a Million Dollar Club. For the first time since they were created, each of Dalton McGunty's 14 LHINs spends more than $1 million annually on the high priced salaries of its executives. Locally, at the Champlain LHIN the number of executives earning over $100,000 has quadrupled from two to eight. The cost of these salaries has increased from $352,000 in 2006 to over $1.2 million in 2010. QUOTES "Dalton McGuinty needs to come clean and explain why he wasted three-quarters of a million dollars paying a bureaucrat in 2010 who quit his job in 2009." -- Lisa MacLeod, Ontario PC MPP for Nepean-Carleton "While Dalton McGuinty continues to waste precious health care dollars, Tim Hudak and the Ontario PCs would put an end to Dalton McGuinty eHealth style waste, scrap his 14 Million Dollar LHIN Clubs and reinvest the money where it is needed most - front line patient care." -- Lisa MacLeod, Ontario PC MPP for Nepean-Carleton QUICK FACTS
