NEWS: Today in the Ontario Legislature, Nepean-Carleton MPP Lisa MacLeod paid tribute to Stacy Lamb and Lynn Hughes for their respective acts of heroism that saved the life of a Comrade at the Barrhaven Legion during the annual Remembrance Dinner. On November 6th, Lamb and Hughes performed CPR and used the on-site defibrillator to shock their fallen Comrade who went into cardiac arrest. Their actions turned what could have been a tragic event into a life saving moment. MPP MacLeod witnessed first hand their heroism on November 6th. QUOTES: "The Barrhaven Legion's members include some of Canada's greatest war heroes. On Saturday, November 6, 2010, the quick action of civilian bystanders at the Legion gave new meaning to the term local heroes." --Lisa MacLeod, MPP Nepean-Carleton "It was highly traumatic for many of us to see a friend fallen, but these two women, Stacy Lamb and Lynn Hughes went above and beyond. They kept their cool, knew their stuff and saved a life. Without their immediate action and training in CPR, this night may have ended in tragedy." --Lisa MacLeod, MPP Nepean-Carleton |
