MPP Lisa MacLeod and a team of Nepean-Carleton businesswoman have been organizing women in business breakfasts since 2006, with the first such breakfast at the Monterrey Inn on Prince of Wales, featuring guest speaker and Bridgehead Coffee founder Tracey Clark.
On Friday, October 30, 2009 the breakfast will take place in Manotick (at the United Church, 5567 Manotick Main Street) to commemorate Manotick’s 150th Anniversary with special guest speaker, Manotick’s own, the Honourable Senator Marjory Lebreton. Senator Lebreton is the most powerful woman in the federal government serving as Government Leader in the Senate and Minister of State (Seniors). Breakfast will begin at 7 a.m., Senator Lebreton will speak at 8:15 a.m. and a tradeshow featuring 25 booths by local businesswomen will round off the event.

Over 100 women from Nepean-Carleton attend Lisa MacLeod’s semi-annual women in business breakfast. The cost for breakfast is $15. The cost for a tradeshow at the breakfast is $50, but this year has already sold out.
Since the first Nepean-Carleton Women in Business Breakfast in 2006, MPP MacLeod has hosted Nepean Businesswoman of the Year winner, Dahlia Bortolotti, Manotick Realtor Netta Clark, Ottawa philanthropist Grete Hale, Networking Coach Angela Sutcliffe and social media guru, Lisa Larter. The breakfasts have been held at the Monterrey Inn, Prince of Wales Manor in Barrhaven and the Manotick United Church.
