(Queen's Park) The Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Government Agencies in the Ontario Legislature, Lisa MacLeod, confirmed the agency review committee will be calling the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) before it, and will make recommendations to the McGuinty government to ensure the OMB improves its accountability to Ontario taxpayers.

“Communities like Manotick and others throughout Ontario are fed up with unelected bureaucrats overturning democratic decisions by duly elected councils,” stated MacLeod. “The OMB and the McGuinty government will be held accountable through this review.”

MacLeod expects the review to take place in August or September.
