| MPP MACLEOD ENCOURAGES COMMUNITY GROUPS TO APPLY FOR VICTIMS JUSTICE FUND GRANT |

NEPEAN-CARLETON, January 2, 2007 - MPP Lisa MacLeod is inviting community based organizations whose goal is to serve and support victims of crime to apply for grants funded by the Victims of Justice Fund. “The Province of Ontario’s 2007-2008 Community Grants Program is designed to meet the needs of victims of crime and I am encouraging local community groups who fit the criteria to apply”, said MPP MacLeod. According to the Attorney General priorities includes ‘initiatives that benefit the victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, hate crimes, child/ youth victims, including young victims’. Interested groups may contact MacLeod’s office at 613-823-2116 for an application or for more information.
