NEPEAN-CARLETON, July 24, 2007 - “I was disappointed and discouraged by Warren Kinsella’s recent blog posting in which he suggests I would rather be at home “baking cookies” than attending a political event with my Leader and other politicians.

“Mr. Kinsella’s blog posting was misguided, unnecessary and it crossed the line.

“As a young mother and female politician I have spent my first term as an MPP trying to break down barriers for women in politics by encouraging more women to run for office and I have been a strong advocate for making the Ontario Legislature more family friendly.

"At a time when a number of women are leaving the legislature, particularly from the governing Liberal Party, it is incumbent of those involved in the political process to be sensitive to the gender imbalance in the legislature and its causes.”
